Privacy Policy

SINKO INDUSTRIES LTD. and its group companies (“the Group”) considers protection of personal information obtained in the course of corporate activities such as sales, purchasing, research and development, public relations, and hiring (specifically, information that can be used to identify specific living individuals, for example by means of names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, contact information, or other data that it contains) to be an important component of its social responsibility. Accordingly, we have formulated this Privacy Policy.

1. Compliance with laws and ordinances related to the protection of personal information

The Group has put in place management structures to comply with laws, ordinances, and good practices related to the protection of personal information.

2. Handling of personal information

(1) Acquisition of personal information

The Group acquires personal information related to such aspects of its business operations as product sales, maintenance, research and development, public relations, and hiring using legal and fair means to the extent necessary to achieve explicit purposes of use after articulating those purposes and obtaining users’ consent.
We do not acquire protected personal information (information requiring special consideration in its handling to ensure that the individual in question is not subject to disadvantageous treatment such as discrimination or prejudice, for example on the basis of race, creed, social status, health history, criminal history, or status as a victim of crime) unless we have obtained the consent of the individual in question first or unless required by law.

(2) Use of personal information

The Group uses personal information in its possession only to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use outlined below. We may use personal information jointly or outsource use of that information to outside vendors. When outsourcing such operations, we work to protect personal information by choosing vendors who handle personal information in an appropriate manner and by requiring that they manage the information in an appropriate manner. Purposes of use 1. To carry out tasks related to shares and to provide information and services to shareholders and investors 2. To investigate how to improve public relations and investor relations 3. To provide information to customers, to contact customers, and to provide after-sales service 4. To provide information to applicants seeking employment and to contact applicants 5. To manage human relations in an appropriate manner, to carry out administrative tasks, to respond to inquiries, etc.

(3) Joint use of personal information

Group companies make joint use of personal information in the Group’s possession to the extent described below as necessary in order to achieve the purposes of use described above:

1. Information subject to joint use

3. Administrator responsible for joint use of personal information

(4) Provision of personal information to third parties

With the exception of joint use by Group companies and provision to outside vendors to which it has outsourced operations, the Group does not provide personal information to third parties without the consent of the individual who can be identified by that information (“the individual in question”). This does not apply when disclosure is compelled by law, necessary to protect human life or property, or required by a public agency such as the police or courts.

(5) Disclosure of personal information

When asked by the individual in question to disclose his or her personal information, the Group will comply without delay unless doing so would pose an undue disruption to the Group’s business operations or a threat to individual life, health, or property, or otherwise violate individual rights. When asked by the individual in question to correct, add, or delete certain fields of information, or to halt use of or remove personal information in its entirety, the Group will investigate the request without delay and comply so long as it determines that such action is necessary.
